OPENBRACKET / SERVICES / CUSTOM SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT

Software built around
your business.

Generic software makes your business adapt to it. Custom software adapts to your business. We build business tools, automations, APIs, and integrations with TypeScript, Python, Go, and Rust, choosing the language and architecture around your workflow, existing systems, and support needs.

01 / BESPOKE BUSINESS TOOLS

Bespoke business tools

Software designed around your operations, vocabulary, and rules — from quoting tools to scheduling and reporting.

02 / PYTHON, FASTAPI & AUTOMATION

Python, FastAPI & automation

Build Python APIs and webhook services with FastAPI, alongside repeatable imports, data processing, reporting, and integrations that replace manual handoffs. Validation, error handling, and useful operational logs are part of making an automation dependable.

03 / GO & RUST SERVICES

Go & Rust services

Develop focused APIs, background workers, and command-line tools with Go or Rust where deployment, concurrency, performance, or memory safety matter. We choose around the actual workload and the people who will maintain it.

04 / LONG-TERM STEWARDSHIP

Long-term stewardship

Maintainable code, documentation, and support plans so your software keeps pace as the business changes.

A GOOD FIT WHEN

Sound
familiar?

  • A business outgrowing the spreadsheet that runs a core process
  • Two systems that should talk to each other but don't
  • A recurring report assembled by hand every week
  • An off-the-shelf product that almost fits, but not quite

WHAT YOU GET OUT OF IT

Operational efficiency

Hours of manual coordination become minutes of automated flow.

Enterprise-level engineering

Experience from large connected platforms, applied at a scale that suits your business.

You own the roadmap

Features arrive because your business needs them — not when a vendor gets around to it.

THE TOOLKIT

The right tools.
For your next step.

Chosen around your project, your team, and what comes after launch.

Languages & services

Business logic, automation, APIs, and background processing.

  • Python
  • FastAPI
  • Go
  • Rust
  • TypeScript
  • Node.js

Interfaces & connected data

Usable front ends, API integrations, and shared caching where needed.

  • React
  • Next.js

OUR 4D PROCESS

A little structure.
A lot of collaboration.

  1. 01

    Discover

Understand your business, your users, and what a useful result looks like.

  2. 02

    Design

Shape the experience, explore the details, and test the direction together.

  3. 03

    Develop

Build the pieces, connect your systems, and validate how everything works.

  4. 04

    Deliver

Deploy thoughtfully, support the handover, and plan what comes next.

RELATED EXPERIENCE

ByteDown — Go image-processing service

Independent Go/libvips service with asynchronous image processing, PostgreSQL-backed jobs, and a Svelte workshop. A trusted single-operator project with an API independent of the browser interface.

SitePaladin — Rust website auditor

Independent Rust/Axum application for bounded link and metadata audits, with SQLite-backed findings and JSON/CSV export. Inspects server-returned HTML rather than executing page JavaScript.

Daguerrify — browser photo editor

Independent Svelte/TypeScript application using WebGL2 and GLSL for local JPEG/PNG adjustments, comparison, undo/redo, and export without uploading images to a backend.

Fidium — enterprise web platform

At Amdocs, Tam contributed to a shared headless platform with custom CMS modules, GraphQL integration, React components, and the service-availability experience. The project stack includes Next.js and Redis.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Asked, and
answered.

How do you choose between Python, Go, Rust, and TypeScript?

We look at the work the software needs to do, your existing systems, deployment constraints, and who will support it. Python can suit automation and data workflows; Go and Rust can suit focused services and tools; TypeScript connects naturally with web interfaces. We agree on the tradeoffs during discovery.

Is custom software expensive compared to subscriptions?

It's an investment with different economics: you pay to build an asset you own instead of renting a product forever. We'll discuss honestly whether custom work or an existing tool is the better fit.

What happens after the software ships?

We offer maintenance and improvement plans, and we build with documentation and conventions so the work remains maintainable either way.

Can you start small?

Yes — a focused first version that solves the most painful step is often the smartest start, with room to grow from there.
